St Andrews Church will be open for ‘Discover Your Dead Day’ which will be an opportunity for genealogists, historians and interested members of the public to visit the Churchyard, inspect the registers, and ask questions about the graves in the Churchyard.

This day may be of interest to those whose relatives are buried there, or those interested in the celebrities interred there. A special guide to the graves of most interest will be available on the day.

There will be several of these each year.

During the regular Coffee Morning (and continuing until 2.00) at All Saints Church, Dedworth, there will be a Bake Sale and Raffle to raise funds to support the work of unicef in the wake of the earthquake in Haiti.

There will also be a hair dresser on site to cut your hair in exchange for a donation to charity.

A peal is a change ringing method rung to 5000 or more changes. Since St Andrews has six bells the maximum number of changes possible is 720 so the extent of 720 must be rung 7 times to give 5040 changes.

This peal took just under 3 hours to complete.
